The Youth Pride Chorus is a collaboration between the New York City Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered Centre and the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus for those aged fourteen to twenty-one. It is a completely free program for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender young people and their allies. Those involved carry a message [, or several messages,] within each song learned during weekly rehearsals [Tuesdays -- six to eight in the evening] and perform in concerts at the Centre and many other locations.
Voice Evaulations are held for the Youth Pride Chorus each September and January. These sessions serve more as a placement than an audition. Everyone is welcomed to join.
Those welcome in the community are those who are currently in the chorus, have been in the chorus, wish to be in the chorus, or support the chorus.
